An immersive performance dedicated to gesture, matter and light.
Sculpture is often encountered only at the final stage of its creation: the completed work, exhibited, silent and still.
Yet every sculpture is born from a process made of study, intuition, mistakes, corrections, the resistance of the matter and the physical presence of the artist. This performance invites the audience to enter that usually invisible process. At the centre of the space, the sculptor works live on a preparatory prototype, revealing the stages of refinement, modelling and definition of the work.
Arranged around the artist in a close and immersive setting, the audience witnesses not only the emergence of form, but the direct encounter between hand, matter and thought.
The aim is not simply to present a sculpture, but to share the time of its making.

01. FROM DRAWING TO FORM

The performance begins with a short introduction to the world of sculpture: images, historical references and visual suggestions that move through the Western artistic tradition, from Michelangelo and Bernini to contemporary research.

Through sketches, preparatory studies and project drawings, the audience is guided along the path that leads from the initial idea to the creation of the work.

The transition from mark on paper to volume in space thus becomes an integral part of the experience.

02. THE HEART

After the introductory presentation, the focus shifts to the live work.
At the centre of the room, illuminated by a light table, the sculptor works directly on the sculpture prototype, using hand tools and finishing techniques that reveal the concrete, physical nature of artistic making. Every gesture becomes part of the work. The audience can observe the creative process up close, listen to the sound of the tools, follow the gradual transformation of the surface and understand how a form comes to life through the work of the hand. As the artist rotates the work and continuously changes the point of view, one of the essential qualities of sculpture emerges: its three-dimensional nature. A sculpture is never exhausted in a single image.
It lives in space and changes constantly through the gaze of those who observe it.

03. LIGHT AS MATTER

A central part of the performance is dedicated to the study of light.
Light is not treated as a simple technical element, but as an active component of the work itself.
Through changes in lighting and different points of illumination, the audience witnesses the perceptual transformation of the sculpture: volumes emerge, surfaces soften, details appear or disappear, shadows alter the character of the work.
Light becomes a tool of revelation.
This moment allows the audience to understand how a sculpture continues to transform even after its creation, entering into dialogue with the spaces that host it and with the gaze of those who encounter it.

04. BEYOND COMPLETION

The final stage of the performance takes the audience beyond the prototype, presenting the following phases that lead to the finished work: further processing, refinements, surface treatments and final procedures.

The entire journey offers a complete vision of sculptural practice, highlighting the value of manual skill, technical knowledge and the time required for creation.

In an age dominated by speed, automation and serial production, this performance offers a different experience: to slow down, observe and understand. It is an invitation to rediscover the value of the handmade gesture, the relationship with matter and the human dimension of the creative process. More than a technical demonstration, it is a moment of shared experience in which sculpture returns to what it has always been: a living dialogue between idea, body, space and light.
